LPG cylinder price hike: The prices of domestic and commercial Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders have been increased by the state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) with effect from Tuesday i.e. March 1.
The price of a domestic LPG cylinder weighing 14.2 kg has been increased by Rs 50 in Delhi whereas commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 350.50.
As the price of LPG gas cylinders was not revised the last time, there were speculations that it will be increased from March 1.
Domestic LPG Cylinder Price Hike
The price of a domestic LPG cylinder weighing 14.2 kg has been increased by Rs 50 in Delhi. With the revision, the rate of domestic LPG cylinder is now Rs 1103.
Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hike
Similarly, the price of commercial LPG cylinder has also been hiked from today in the national capital. A 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 350.50 With this, the commercial cylinder will now cost Rs 2119.50 in Delhi.
The last revision in the price of domestic LPG cylinders was done in 2022. The rate of domestic cooking gas was hiked four times last year. On January 1 this year, the price of commercial cylinders was increased by Rs 25, costing Rs 1,768 for a LGP cylinder in Delhi.
The latest revision in the prices of LPG cylinder that came into effect from today will definitely trigger concerns among citizens as majority of the households in the country use LPG for cooking purposes.
The prices of domestic cooking gas vary from state to state depending on local taxes. Besides, the prices of crude oil in international markets also impact domestic LPG prices.
