Jammu and Kashmir to Implement Property Tax for Improved Public Amenities, Says Lt Governor Manoj Sinha
In a recent statement, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha emphasized that citizens' welfare is a top priority for the government, and the implementation of property tax will ensure the financial self-sustainability of cities and the improvement of public amenities in the Union Territory.
Sinha stated that the cities in Jammu and Kashmir must undergo rapid development and emerge as engines of growth, and financial self-sustainability is necessary for achieving this goal. He added that the property tax in J&K will be one of the lowest in the country and will be used for improving public amenities.
Furthermore, the Lt Governor assured the general public that the implementation of property tax in J&K will be done in consultation with them, and their interests will be protected. This move is expected to contribute significantly to the overall development and progress of the Union Territory.
