Generally, cloudy weather is expected across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh today.

Light to moderate rain/snow showers can occur at a few places in Jammu & Kashmir and Kargil towards evening.

Most places will see no significant activity. Nothing major is expected during the next 24 hrs.

Two Western Disturbances in quick succession to affect Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh from 06 January.

Western Disturbance 1:

06 January: Cloudy weather, light rain/snow at one or two places.

07 January: Cloudy weather, light rain/snow at a few places (mostly towards night).

08 January: Light/moderate rain/snow at most places in Kashmir & Kargil and a few places in Jammu & Leh.

Possibility of heavy snowfall at a few places in higher reaches.

09 January: Light/moderate rain/snow at most places in Kashmir & Kargil and a few places in Jammu & Leh.

Possibility of heavy snowfall at a few places in higher reaches.

11 January: Light/moderate rain/snow at most places in Kashmir & Kargil and at a few places in Jammu & Leh.

12 & 13 January: Light/moderate rain/snow at most places in Jammu, Kashmir & Kargil and a few places in Leh.

Additional: As compared to the first WD, temperatures associated with 2nd WD will be lower. So, in the first WD, rain can also occur in some plains.

The flow of WDs is expected to continue till the month end.
