What is the Salary of RAW?

There is not much information available in the public domain regarding the perks and salaries that RAW agents get. According to some unofficial sources on the internet, it is estimated that they get Rs. 80000/- to Rs. 130000/- per month.


A RAW agent works across borders or within the boundaries in some operations. To become one, you must clear all the Civil Service examination stages. Only the top candidates are allowed to write the RAW exam. Applicants must also have a 20-year of experience working with the government.


Due to this extensive history and experience requirement, the salary of a RAW agent tends to be between INR 80,000 per month to 1.3 Lakhs per month. The RAW agent salary per annum ranges from INR 9.60 Lakhs to INR 15.60 Lakhs.

To apply for Intelligence Bureau jobs candidates need to be under 56 years of age. To become RAW agent candidates should have an experience of 20 years of service.

Way to Get into IB and RAW

A tough process to get recruited into these two organizations includes written examination followed by interview. Intelligence Bureau recruitment process requires candidates to appear for CGPE ( Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam) which is conducted by SSC (Staff Selection Commission) every year.


To become RAW agent, candidates should take Group A Civil Services exam under the Central Staffing Scheme. They have to clear all the stages of Civil Service Examination and qualified candidates are allowed to write the RAW examination.
